Façades assessed for the two things they must do: keep fire and water out

07 — Façade Engineering & Testing

A façade is where several compliance regimes collide: combustibility and fire spread, weatherproofing, structural adequacy and energy performance. QFS assesses façade systems against the NCC's fire and weatherproofing requirements, reviews the test evidence behind proposed products, and prepares Performance Solutions where a system needs justification beyond its paperwork.

For existing buildings, we assess installed cladding — identifying combustible elements, evaluating risk in context, and advising on proportionate remediation rather than reflexive full replacement.

What this service covers
  • Combustibility and fire-spread assessments of proposed façade systems
  • Review of test evidence: AS 1530 series results, AS 5113 classifications, CodeMark and technical assessments
  • Cladding audits and remediation advice for existing buildings
  • Weatherproofing performance assessment and Performance Solutions
  • Coordination of façade testing where evidence gaps exist
When you need it
  • Any external wall system that is not unambiguously non-combustible
  • Products whose certificates don't quite match the configuration being built
  • Buildings flagged under cladding audit programs, or due-diligence purchases
  • Water ingress performance questions on exposed or unusual envelopes
What you receive

Documentation built to be approved.

  • A façade compliance assessment tracing every layer of the system to its evidence
  • Clear statements of what is acceptable, what needs substitution and what needs testing
  • Performance Solution documentation where engineering justification is the pathway
